EFIE. The Museum as Home

Art and Culture in Dialogue – An Exhibition from Ghana

Our organization is proud to have been part of a unique project that bridges the gap between the German-Ghanaian community and contemporary art. The exhibition, curated by the renowned art historian **Nana Oforiatta Ayim**, challenges traditional modes of presentation and expands the conventional understanding of what a “museum” can be. It offers new perspectives, not only on the art itself but also on the societal realities from which these works emerge.

As the curator of the celebrated Ghana Pavilion at the 2019 Venice Biennale and founder of the **ANO Institute of Arts & Knowledge**, Ayim plays a pivotal role in the global art scene. This exhibition, which we had the privilege to be part of, creates a platform for vital cultural dialogues and highlights the diverse voices of Ghana’s artistic community.

Our organization actively contributed to shaping the **supporting program** for the German-Ghanaian community. Through our efforts, we promoted intercultural exchange, facilitated discussions, and helped to create collaborative creative projects. With workshops, panel discussions, and cultural events, we played a part in bringing the richness and diversity of the Ghanaian art scene to a broader audience in Germany.

This project represents an important step toward strengthening the ties between our cultures and creating a space for mutual learning and growth. It demonstrates that art is not only of aesthetic value but also a powerful tool for building social and cultural bridges.
